Dutchie, you know it's going to happen. Happens all the time. Really,
you can complain, but in a free and open forum, you can't stop it.
Have you considered, say, just not logging on ?

onya robbie!! saw the footage this morning.. great sprint to the line!

cheers,
GPL

Yeah what a great finish. Most entertaining bunch sprint ive seen in long while. Its like The Tour last year. When teams take on Fassa they lose control and Petacchi ends up nowhere.

He is really making himself look silly with his conspiracy theory comments and a "coalition" against him. Mind you he has never been the gentleman sprinter that his reputation suggests. He punched some guy in 2003 (i think), and would of been DQed had it been at any other race than the Giro.

I like OGrady and Cookes responses to his claims too.

Cooke:

"You're joking. That's ********. He's getting paranoid. After Robbie went to the left and I went to the right, we actually came together against Petacchi and I thought he would have been whinging after the finish that Robbie and I were working against him. But that's bike racing and that's what happens in a rough sprint."

O´Grady:

"What a lot of ********. Welcome to our world Petacchi. We go through that every race. With the leadouts going, he's been up there protected; we have this battle every race. This is not soccer, it's road sprinting! "

I dunno if anyone saw it but there was baaaaad fall from a Euskatel rider. Really scary to see, his head just slam into the railing at that speed. He was motionless for a long time on the ground but eventually moved his legs. Apparently he got off relatively lightly. Broken ribs and a punctured lung were reported. Surely some major facial trauma though too.

yeah, if i dont sleep, work or do anything else...

sounds like a plan!!! :D

Yeh, me too. I read the live coverage thingy on cyclingnews before work
for the major tours and the classics - you can sort of see it all
unfold and there's some actual tension sometimes. What I don't do is
log onto a cycling newsgroup before I do this, as of course people are
going to post stuff, and you can now bet that some of these dickwads
(not you shabby : ) ) will make a point of posting news now you've
shown it'll **** you off.
I'm looking forward to the live tour coverage so I won't have to be a
news-shy psycho for three weeks. Amazing how people who know I like
cycling all want to share my interest for those three weeks. Last year
I was only checking the group after 7pm each night.

Last year on alt.mountain-bike (so we're all closet roadies) someone kept posting spoilers every day under different accounts, so a
few others started posting decoy spoilers with incorrect winners in the subject lines.
