Default Greetings to AMB

Just found this NG today and thought I'd introduce myself.
My name's Darrin and I ride in Southern California 2-4 times
a week. I'm 36 and this is my fourth year riding. My bike is
a 2002 Trek Fuel 90 with Avid mechanical discs. I'm lovin'
this bike, except the chain suck that sucks even though it's
infrequent.

Just finished riding Big Laguna Trail and Noble Canyon in
East San Diego County today with a couple of friends. Loving
the pain I'm feeling now. Sucks I have to work tomorrow...

Peace.

What type of cranks you got on that bike? Would they
wouldn't be Bonti's, would they?

Chain suck on a trek? Wow! Ride it until you break it and
then use your gig earnings to get a quality bike.

Several of us frequent posters here on this group rode
Laguna/Noble last weekend. Fo me it was the first time out
there since the fires. I was happy to see so little damage
(relatively speaking) in the area from the fires.

The photo on the front page of your site reminds me of an
old girlfriend I had. Well, except for the black bar
across the eyes.

On another note (intended- sorry) where do you guys usually
gig in town?

What I ride is not really important. Names is for
tombstones, baby. What is important is that neither
smellsworthless nor santa crud are bicycle manufacturers.
They are only marketing and (sometimes stolen and often
outdated) design companies. You never know who is really
building their bikes. Stick with your notions of Yeti and
Intense, unless you don't like low bottom brackets, then
count out the Intense Spyder. If you were leaning towards a
santa crud blurb hypecycle, ask Anthony Sloan what he's
switched from one of those to. Riders ride bikes, not
buzzname mass-marketed junk.

Unless he's changed his stock setup, they are.

(But I'll mention again that I haven't had chain suck issues
on my old Fuel 90 or on my new Sugar, both of which have
those cranks.)

They were until I bent one like a pretzel in a crash. I had
to do an emergency unbending with a large rock just so I
could ride out. Replaced with Shimano XT cranks.
