Default Natural peanut butter

Mmmmm. Had my first taste of natural peanut butter today. Good stuff, but
you sure gotta stir it a lot! I got the Kroger brand crunchy variety,
$1.69 for a 16 oz jar. Ingredients: Roasted peanuts, salt. Total carbs per
two tablespoons: 6g, with 2g fiber.

store it upside down when you get home from the store, and your stirring on
first use will be greatly reduced, then refridgerate. will be fine after
that

My ex used to buy natural PB and then dump the oil out. Talk about trying
to stir or spread - it was almost impossible. This was when LF was heavily
promoted and that was the way to get rid of a lot of the fat. Not to
mention - the PB was exceptionally dry. I prefer my crunchy JIF.

I buy Kroger brand, too. It's the best store brand at a
good price and it's delicious.

Okay, Okay. I have been buying Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter, but since you
two are so gung ho on the Kroger brand, I'll try it. (as if I needed an
excuse to eat peanut butter, heh)

I started using Smucker's Natural PB last week, and I'm never eating
"regular" PB again!

I find it almost impossible to stop eating Smucker's Peanut butter.

About as bad as potato chips.

Better tasting.

Well, since the ingredients are just peanuts and salt, I really don't see
how the Kroger brand would be different from the national brand, other than
price.

Technically, they could have different amounts of salt in them. One could
check the sodium content of both brands and see if it is significantly
different.

Oh, but they are! When I was in Charlotte recently, I tried the Harris
Teeter store brand. They were even supposed to be "organic". And it was an
off taste I didn't like at all. I took the two jars back and got my money
refunded. There are different varieties of peanuts, after all, and they
don't taste exactly the same.

To me, there is a noticeable difference in some natural
peanut butter brands. For instance, Meijer's brand always
tastes stale. Maybe they use a lesser grade of peanuts?

Well, after it got stirred up the first time, it didn't last long enough to
settle again. Apparently my dad really liked it, there's about 2 spoonfuls
left in there now.

You prefer trans fats and added sugar? Gee. That's smart.

I didn't say I was eating JIF - I only said I preferred it over natural PB.
I actally have a jar of LC PB in my cabinet - good to eat with celery
sticks. Excellent source of protein.
