to train to try = and qualify for the Olympics, the
marathon, what type of training = schedule would the have
and would they still be able to work? Thanks. Kristine ------

Well, there's a lot of that sort of information available
online if you do a quick search.

I can tell you that it takes years and years of dedication
and tremendous natural ability, along with a special mindset
to even come close to having the Olympics as a viable goal
to begin with.

There are lots of Olympic-calibre marathon runners who work.
Rod DeHaven worked full time (if I remember right) during
his drive to the Olympic Trials a few years back. Obviously
their bosses make some concessions, like say, 4000 calorie
lunches and then sleeping on the job! I can't see myself
being very functional after a 140 mile week.

If you do a google's group search on Andy Hass and
Training Week"

cheers,

If you do a google's group search on Andy Hass and Training
Week", you'll find one of this group's regular contributor's
training, in which he recently made a serious drive to make
the Olympic standard.
