Walks/scrambles this weekend?
Been stuck in Cambridge since August, and this weekend (20/3) is free.
Unfortunately the forecast looks a bit crap! Any suggestions for
wet weather scrambles or decent walks? Alternatively is there any
snow up in Wales/the Lakes at present? Haven't used my Mantas
since last year :(. Just the two of us (so had better not be too far
off the beaten track, just in case), fit, experienced (did Alta Via 2
last summer), but no crampons, so Striding Edge in the snow not
an option. Yet :)

TIA,

Ben

I've "been stuck" in Cambridge since 1984 myself! But I
still manage to get to the Lakes for a weekend's wild
camping about one week in three (in good weather).
Don't know about current conditions, but there was no
serious snow on Esk Pike on 5th/6th March; just
centimetre deep slush. I suspect it's all gone by now.
The Wasdale Website (www.wasdaleweb.co.uk) has Webcams
and a good weather page.

Happy walking! Mark
