Incredible!

Of course, all the riders who really care about winning the
monuments of the next two weeks didn't give a hoot about
this race.

Actually, Hincapie finished in third place, but by gathering
enough third places you're bound to end up first eventually.

Lefevere was chuckling about "de Nederlanders zijn slecht
verliezers" afterwards :-)

Jeff (can't work out why all my TT shots were more in focus
than my still shots today. Maybe it was too many beers)

Referring to Bodrogi (QSD) beating Bartko (Rabo) by the way.

Jeff (again)

hincapie said himself that he wasn't coming for the win, but
got in the right move on the first day.

Thought as much, and the :-) presumably was for the fact
that a Hungarian beat a German, and a Belgian is then happy
to have beaten the Dutch...

Yep. Lefevere had a big grin on his face afterwards when he
was giving his side of the story. There's a bit more in
today's news: http://www.cyclingnews.com/news.php?id=news/2-
004/apr04/apr02news2 (sorry must stop spamming).

I got a good chuckle out of Museeuw, crossing the line
of the TT at a somewhat leisurely pace and maintaining
his cadence throughout the finish area on his way to
the team bus.

And it's not that Hincapie doesn't care about the monuments,
he does. The problem is, better riders than him also care.

From today's Procycling online:

" The difference between them and me is that they've all won
World Cup races and I haven't. They know how to do it,"
Hincapie said, whose best result in the Tour of Flanders so
far came in the 2002 edition in which he finished fourth.

Wtf? George: it's just the same as winning any other race,
just a lot harder. There's no trick to it that you have to
figure out.

Perhaps the problem is that he has forgotten how to win
races altogether.
