Hey,
Seems like the 30 year old is entering into his own. The
past 8 years just preparation for greatness.
This goes against what all the know-it-all non-riders here
seem to think.
Thanks, RC
i used to race against george often when we were kids. he was amazing. nobody could touch him. he would win the young juniors, then the older juniors (against kids like frank and mark mccormack and jonas carney), then enter the senior race for his category... and win!
granted these were american amateur races in the 80's, but i remember when he was racing with the US team and i'd hear that the euro kids would mark him all race long.
i've found it hard to believe he's had such a lackluster career and could only attribute it to an overall lack of confidence. hopefully he gets a good dose of it this year...

I thought that was supposed to be Gent-Wevelgem.

This is said about EVERY US rider that makes it to the euro peleton. There are enough stories about these guys lapping the fields of masters fatties to fill a dvd.
It is frustrating when dorks cheer at Hincapie's every "failure" when it comes to RVV and PR. Those dorks fail to notice that the average age for winning those two races is somewhere in the 30's.

Only the mouthy ones.
It is true that Hincapie won Driedaagse de Panne. It is also
true that RvV is next. There is no other connection between
those two statements.

Was it really that long ago I saw him win the Tour of
Somerville as a teenager? Sigh!
