That Bruyneel would enter such a weak team.
I expect Ag2R Prevoyance, Gerolsteinter, Relax, Liberty
Seguros, Euskatel-Euskadi, Alessio-Bianchi, or
especially Domina-Vacanza to make infinitely more of an
impression on the Great Ronde than the mediocre lineup
that USPS is sending.
bon appetit,
Brian Laffatme
USPS has only one goal : Tour de France. I don't live in the
States, but I read in the papers that there are only 2 races
live on tv in the USA : TDF and Paris Roubaix. (I don't know
if its true.)

Don't believe everything you read in the papers. OLN, a
fairly common cable channel, carries all three Grand
Tours, most of the Spring Classics, and so forth. Not
positive about live coverage (which for the tours is
problematic viewing on this continent anyways; being from
the west coast, I was able to catch an hour or so of
racing in the morning before work) but tape-delayed same-
day replay at worst.
Canada, on the other hand, is utterly screwed. OLN Canada
only carries the Tour de France. The only reason we got
coverage of the World's last year was because they were in
Canada. I have considered getting a 12' dish just because
OLN's US feed is broadcast unencrypted.

Damned, I'm going to Canada this summer. So I won't see much
of last to weeks of the TDF. I'm leaving 11 july, wich means
I will miss all the mountain stages. I remember when I was
in canada 8 years ago they showed some 30 minutes per stage,
including 3 commercial breaks.
But there is internet now... They have internet in Canada,
don't they :-)

The OP was either a troll or mistake. The USPS team for
Flanders is good. Cruz is a good worker and Padrnos is
a major horse. Ekimov, Hincapie and Van Heeswijk are
all contenders, Joachim is a former national champion
(and doper...) who was in the finale last year working
for Ekimov.

Live coverage in 2004: Paris Nice, Fleche-Wallonne,
Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, and presumably the
Vuelta a Espana.
Same day coverage: Tour of Flanders, Paris Roubaix, Liege
Bastogne Liege; Amstel Gold;

i believe it was sarcasm, and the intent was to make the
same point you just did. but the op is a very naughty boy, i
can guarantee you that.

That's good to know. I just moved to British Columbia and
we've been on the fence about cable versus satellite. We
thought OLN is OLN, but nooooooo...

We also have decent coverage of the Giro, and the Vuelta,
and during the season there are several taped segments
dealing with the classics.

The TdF is the one coverage that OLN Canada does carry. The
coverage, as far as I can tell, is exactly the same for the
Tour as the US network.

No. This e-mail was sent by handing it to a passing mountie,
who had to fight off beavers, moose, the frigid Arctic
winds, and a nasty loose thread in his red serge to get this
newsposting to the border.

In years past we have also gotten the Giro and Vuelta
courtesy of OLN.
