i'm trying to order some new balance 991's online, but i
don't know how the widths work. anyone know?

I believe "standard" width is "D;" E and up are wider, and C
or below are narrower.

Why don't you stop in your local J.C. Penneys or whatever
and measure your foot with the foot measuring thingy they
usually have laying around in the shoe department? I order
NB shoes from Road Runner Sports on-line and I have a narrow
foot making it impossible to find running shoes in the local
places, such as foot locker and finish line. Also I do
believe RRS will gladly exchange the shoes if you screw up
and order the wrong width. I've found their customer service
to be great, even if their gimmicky, 'join the club' promos
tend to be a bit of a rip off.

That's for men, standard width for women is B. If you are a
woman and normally wear wide shoes they are usually D, and
narrow shoes are AA. (since we don't know the gender of the
original poster)
