I recently purchased a pair of Asics Gel Foundation Motion
Control shoes after modest, cross-train running (50-100
miles per year) the past several years in a pair of Asics
125 Motion Control shoes.
My old Asics had a nearly perfect wear pattern and never
gave me any trouble so I *assumed* that I couldn't go wrong
with another pair of Asics Motion Control shoes. I purchased
Asics Gel Foundation shoes which feel decent when I go on a
typical 3-4 mile run. However, near the end and after my
arches (middle and front, not the heel) really ache and I
just can't wait to get the shoes off. I've only been out in
these 1/2 dozen times and I keep hoping for a break-in but
people tell me this shouldn't be necessary. My arches are
still bothering me after my last run which was 3 days ago.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and I welcome
suggestions for another (Asics) shoe that would more closely
fit the design of my old shoes. I'm certain that running
doesn't need to be painful in a new pair of shoes.
Thanks for any and all advice,
Joe
