From cyclingnews's live TdG report. Yesterday was a fine
win, but lets not get too carried away...

"Health Net are confident now that they can go head to head
with the big Euro teams and so far so good."

I think it is funny how yesterday Gord and Ivan said it was
especially great to have beat Cipo....Cipo never contested
yesterdays sprint Dave

Richard Adams

According to sources Cipo wasn't keen on sprinting on the
brick pave. No doubt he's made himself known to the
Georgia belles with today's win. Probably with a generous
scoope of panache.

If you don't race, you can't win: case closed.

Dailypeloton.com: "He said also he is very impressed that in
US cycling there are a lot of women, which is another
positive aspect that he misses in Europe."

Ha, ha, ha...ever the ladies' man...

As they should be... besides, Gord's got a few nice results
of late in Europe, most recently his stage win in the
Criterium International a few years ago. And, he had good
(not great) results in this year's Tour de Langkawi.

He does pretty well against the top sprinters, and feeling
confident in his team's ability to execute a good leadout is
perfectly reasonable.

There would be more women participating in Euro cycling
events if there were at least a few porta-potties around.
When I rode the Etape du Tour in 2000, no tree or bush or
even building wall was safe. Zero porta-potties. Not
terribly hospitable to women!
