View Full Version : Names for Eric -PSF?

Call me childish and silly, but I reckon Eric M could do
with a nickname.

My first idea was Patron Saint of Fat, which reduces to PSF,
but ISTR that someone already has that :-) (ducks

Oh I think you do need to duck Rich, for that one....

EM was barely articulate so he could simply be PSIW - Patron
Saint of Inarticulate W... rhymes with banker.

That's so brilliant I'm not even going to bother to check if it's genuine. Now send it to Private Eye. Or Marina Hyde (Diary) at the Guardian. Or both.

Should perhaps be Reckless Eric. Wreckless would mean he
wasn't wrecking things, and he blatantly is. Reckless would
be without regard to known information, or to safety.

I found a few more, courtesy of the trial version of
"Anagram genius" :

"The wormy anal cretin" "O! Raw, tyrannic helmet" "Oh my!
Rectal hat winner!" "Own crania try helmet" "Lame wry
cretin on hat"

Lots more came out, I just couldn't be bothered to search
for any more really apposite ones ...

I love anagrams, me. I am a Stilgoe fan. This has prompted
me to re-install anagram genius, which is a Good Thing
(although I can do them unaided, a bit of cheating is never
a bad thing).

That one is so apposite it has to be the winner.

I am intending to write to the honourable gentleman
thanking him for introducing his Bill. I started as pro-
helmet anti-compulsion but it was in researching the
information to counter the compulsion aspect that I came
across the related evidence of increased risk. So I have Mr
Martlew to thank for opening my eyes to helmets being at
best a neutral and at worst a bad thing. I am sure he will
be pleased to hear it.

Moi, aussi. Do you take your kids to the Stilgoe
Family Concerts at the RFH? I recall you have a
budding horn player.

We went to our first one last month, and most enjoyable it
was, too (even if Daddy was singing along with the
Palovtsian Dances). We have a horn player and a cellist in
the family, and Mum plays the piano and organ (and is
considering dusting off her viola to accompany Pete on his
microcello). Daddy sings.

On reading your letter he will probably resort to one of Mr.
Larrington's favourite exclamations: Bah! :-)
