I am an expat in Taiwan, and in my second week of the Atkins program (and countless hours of exercise)
I had a boost in my first week, because I was 5kg lighter, but this second week i have lost nothing (or gained for that matter).
My main problem is finding low carb foods, especially with labels i can read. Carbs are the staple diet here, sugar is in everything, on nuts, seeds, even veggies.
I usually swim for exercise, about 1 1/2 km a day. (not sure if this is the best form of exercise for losing weight?)
Normal menu of the day:
1 hard boiled egg mashed up with some butter for brekkie.
Same for lunch, but with a tiny bit of grated cheese.
Dinner: steak, fried in olive oil with some mushrooms, garlic and cream cheese.
Now, this is getting pretty boring, and I am craving some sugar now.
Any suggestions on how to alter this fantastic menu of mine ( keeping in mind I can only buy stuff when i know what it is just from looking at it..chicken, eggs, cheese, onions etc).
I have 7 weeks before I go on holiday and need to find a routine that works asap.
I have slipped off the diet bandwagon before, and I'm desperate to stay on it this time..I was 100kg, now im 95kg.
(oh, and any low carb recipes for a bread maker will be appreciated, with as many common ingerdients as possible ....again because there is not alot of 'special' foods here).
cheers!
