Try carrying a shopping bag on the handlebars and getting it
caught in the spokes. Worked for me.
'Course, I was younger and foolisher then.
OK, you probably meant "when braking", and in that
case I agree.

Either my speedo is really upset (tried repositioning the
sensor today, need to recalibrate and check it), or 20mph is
not that easy to sustain nowadays. Its quite fast on a bike.
I used to average 16 or 17 going to work, but that was a few
years ago.

One memory relevant to that. From my younger days, when I
worked in a theatre, driving an old series III Landrover
home after a night's show or get-in, over a speed bumpy
residential area, in second gear, with a suitably noisy
big diesel engine. Very little soundproofing under the
bonnet of a series III. Such stop starting is can be
wasteful and noisy.

Surely it depends on conditions. I took Rob's GTT just past
the speed limit in the right turning lane of a two lane bit,
and wondered why all the cars were going slow to my left.
Then I saw the speed cameras. It was a clear lane though.
Apologies to Rob if he ever got a speeding ticket, though it
would be difficult to trace the GTT (not difficult to trace
us though, thanks to the fundraising t-shirts)

Would the sensors be sensitive enough to detect a cyclist?
If you were really conscientious, you could end up sitting
at the lights all night waiting for a car to come along...

If the lights don't detect the bike they are technically
defective, and you can pass them at red. Might cause a bit
of an argument if observed by plod, but that is my
understanding of The Leur.
