I ran it last year and would be running it again this year
if it wasn't for family commitments. It's a great run. It's
never going to be a *big* race, if only because the
logistics of bussing entrants to the start line but I'd
thoroughly recommend it nonetheless.
First 4 miles are more or less downhill (with the odd short
climb) before you settle down to the level of the loch. From
then on until about 18 miles it's very gently undulating. At
18 miles you discover why it's never going to be a PB course
<g> when you have to climb up and over a hill before the run
into Inverness.
It's all very well organised and you won't regret entering.

Tim- thanks very much for the excellent report. i am
looking forward to making the trip from san francisco to
run loch ness. i should have been through the area last
summer when i attempted to ride end to end...but my hands
went numb on day four (about 200 miles in) and i had to
dump out. this spring i had the carpal tunnel release
surgery so should be finishing the ride july or august
2005...after running the loch this year. again, thanks for
your report. it was quite helpful.
