You have to read that article to the end to find out just
which shoe-characteristic they are going to make variable.

It sounds like they will be varying the cushioning
hardness/softness using a "steel-cord" tensioning system?
I'm not clear whether there are separate forefoot and heel
cushioning adjustments, or whether only one of these sectors
will be variable.

I would think this shoe might be heavy, with steel in it,
and batteries and switches and sensors (?).

Are there any issues whether this shoe would be "legal" in
competition?
