On my el cheapo wal-mart special it has some "Sram" setup on it. Should I switch this out for the shimano that is on my parts bike? Or leave well enough alone?

Thanks :D

Leave well enough alone.
Some SRAM shifters don't have the cable pull that matches Shimano derailers.

If you can't tell I'm a tinkerer ;) Some of the higher end Srams ae not shimano compatible. They are the ESP line identified by model #s ending in .0. Not likely found on Mart bikes. If you have a shimano and know what you are doing with changing one out and adjusting it you have nothing to loose by trying it,assuming it's got enugh large cog and wrap capaacity for your drivetrain

I don't know, I'd just do it for the sake of doing it and it working well, and knowing that the part will be better quality and presumably last longer. I'll leave it till it breaks. Gotta stop SOMEWHERE right :p
