I have just bought a new wheelset with hügi 240 hubs. The hubs are great, but i have noticed that the rear wheel slows down much faster than my old wheelset with shimano hubs. I think this is caused by the ratchet system (two discs which slide over each other), but i am not sure. There is no problem when i am pedaling. Is there anyone who has noticed the same 'problem'? Has anyone an idea about this?

Thnx

Yes! When you just spin the wheel in the frame it coasts down much too quickly which is a disappointment, but I never noticed that it slowed me down on a good descent.

If you are worried that it robs you energy when ride it, no! This is an inherent quality of HUGI hubs (I've been using one for years). Ordinary rear hub design has 3 rachet mechanisms, hugi does not share this design due to its direct drive system. Thats why they operate rather silently too because of this.

Thanx for your comments! Good to know that my hub is OK.
