View Full Version : Voler shorts?
Anyone out there have any comments on them? Also they offer three different chamois options. Which one do you think is most comfortable? thanks.

Hmmm... I've got some Voler shorts, but only with team kits and I'm not sure what the model is -- Voler isn't common on the regular retail market.
The ones I've got are definitely a bit minimal compared to the fancier jobs from Pearl Izumi or Castelli, but pleasantly so. The chamois is on the thinner side, but it feels nice and seems good enough. Same with the lycra -- it's light and stretchy, but seems supportive.
The pair I've used the longest has held up for about a year and a half.
Chamois is grey and blue.
I've got several pairs of them (actually thats all I've used for the past two years). I have found them to be very comfortable and very supportive. I went from using bargain team kit shorts to these, and they are great comparatively. I'm sure they're not as great as Assos, but the price can't be beat for a good pair of shorts. I have found the chamois to be very comfortable as well. Not sure what model it is, but it is blue, white and tan. Hope this helps.

I have one that's from Hammer Nutrition. It's the lower line. Feel great on, especially walking around, because they are thinner and softer. The chamois is minimal and not optimal for me, but still OK.
I have another pair, ordered directly from them, what is their more expensive version. Much more complex chamois. They're as good as any other shorts. But I am relatively insensitive to different brands, with the exception of the absolute junk Performance Gel shorts (I am still annoyed that I fell for that).
One note about Voler. Sizing is different. I find the legs a tad longer than some others.

I really like my Voler shorts. I've had them about two years. The chamois is tan only, and its different. It's some sort of thick material, not a thin pad, almost like synthetic leather, but cloth, i dont know how to describe it. Its my favorite pair and so far the cheapest. :)
Yeah, that kind of sounds like the ones I bought from Hammer Nutrition. But then again, it's not much like synth leather. Hmmm.
I have two pair (bib-short and shorts) and they are fine. Chamois is thinner the my Decents, but good. If you want shorter leg rise I you can order in triathlon cut. I seem to note chamoise thiner still on those (tri shorts), but they take a beating, and were cheap...
just got a pair in the mail yesterday. while they felt nice i have two issues with them that will force me to send them back.
first, they are very long. because i'm, ummm....fat, i wear a large. i'm 5'9" w/about a 35 inch waist. the large was down to my knees. pretty uncomfortable.
second, the leg band was already frayed a little. if it's already worn, how is it going to look 1000k miles down the road?
I've had my volers for a long time, the bibs. I love the chamois it is the baseball cut with antibacterial solution pads on the sides, but it's true for me also, the shorts do come down a little long for me as it rubs the back of my knees. But they are the most comfortable shorts I've ever had, of course I haven't had any very expensive ones yet.
