Carbon fibre frame manufacturers?

View Full Version : Carbon fibre frame manufacturers?

Hi, I'm a proud owner of a LiteSpeed Tsali which I use for
City commuting. It's the ideal City bike, takes all the
bumps in it's stride. However I was toyng with the idea of
getting a Carbon Fibre bike because of the way they absorb
vibration and also the lightness. Can anyone direct me to a
list of Manufacturers of Carbon Fibre bikes and frames? Or
maybe recommend some stylish makes? Th e only ones I've seen
so far that I like are the C4 ones, http://c4carbon.com (http://c4carbon.com/) ,
the joker and magik I like.

Also, do you know roughly what I should be asking for my
current Litespeed? I bought it second hand for £1500, £2000
by the time I added all the extras. Many thanks - Edwin.

Thanks for all the replies people, though I had no idea the
bike had depreciated so quickly, ah well. I'm off to look at
the manufacturers mentioned and see if I can get at least £2
for it then.

Stylish? It looks organic! I discovered the bike about 6
months ago, and still dream of it.

No-one seems to have pointed out the obvious here. If you
are expecting any difference in ride between a Ti MTB and a
Carbon Fibre MTB, you'll be sadly disappointed. On big fat
tyres, the difference is just not noticable.

Also the case that though it won't make the bike lighter, a
road going suspension design will probably soak up Real
Bumps better than a compliant frame, and the efficiency
differences could well make up for the weight. What about
something like one of the hot Moultons?

Pete.
