I have an older Specialized shock (atleast 4 years old), and I haven't been able to identify it. I don't know what kind of bike it came off of (if any). It is an air shock, and has Specialized stickers, and the "S" logo molded into the lower fork leg, right above where the wheel sits. The front wheel is mounted inline with the tube (under it) not infront of the tube like most newer shocks are. It has an adjuster on top of each side, with a small air valve on the very top of the adjuster (the kind you use a ball needle to inflate). Clear shock boots, threadless stem, failry light weight. I have a few pictures, and could take more if someone out there may know what I have, it would be greatly appreciated. I emailed Specialized, and they couldn't tell me the model, they just said it sounds like a Mag 21 from Rock Shox. My real problem is, over time, the small air caps on top broke off, leaving the rest of the air cap needle inside the fork. The broken pieces are just far enough inside that they can't be pulled out without disassembly, but I don't want to bother doing that if I can't find replacement parts (air caps, seals, etc.). Anyone have a clue what I have here?

Skippy, Specialized has never made their own proprietary forks. If you bought the bike used then someone has probably just peeled off the original stickers and replaced them with 'S' stickers.

If you find out the year/model of the bike it will be pretty easy to identify the fork - OR post a picture of it up here and the members of this forum can help you out!

Heres a picture of the forks. I have some high resolution (1Mb) pictures I can email anyone who has any idea of what these forks may be

This shock is from a 1992 Stumpjumper. They were originally made for Specialized by rock shox.
Most if not all were actually used on the M2 metal matrix frame.
hope this helps some.

I forgot to mention, parts are not available. I presently own the bike that has these shocks (the M2). My front stantion is leaking badly, Rock shox no longer support parts for a shok that is 11 years old.

Once in awhile EBAY has this (Rarely) and most bike shops don't have the tools to overhaul.
