I finally saw the Swiss Tour on OLN and was surprised to
see Tyler's poor form and poor bike handling skills
(return). He seems strong but watching him sprint to the
line makes me think of a bowl of jiggly Jello. How much
energy does he waste flailing around like that? Anyone who
thinks Tyler will be a force to be reckoned with should
watch the Swiss Tour.

You could also watch re-runs from last year's TdF and see
that he might be pretty good, jiggly form and all.

Funny I believe he won that Swiss race jiggly from and
handling skill not with standing......... Tyler sprint?
That's kind of an oxymoron isn't it?

Like Lance, Tyler prefers to ride solo... especially if he's
on an exhausting mountain stage which leaves climbers on the
level of Steve Zampieri, Leon van Bon, David Millar, and
even Gilberto Simoni a half-hour in the dust, while the
combined forces of T-Mobile leave claw marks in the pavement
trying to get a fresh Erik Zabel past him...

And a nice long time trial works too.

That's my point. He won't do as well without a broken
collarbone this year. Do him a favor and take a marteau
to his other one! I don't think he'll get on the podium
in Paris, and probably not finish fourth again. Phonak
aren't strong enough. T-Mobile are, tho..., but that's a
separate topic.

Phonak might not be strong enough, but if he stays on
Armstrong's wheel, he can let the Blue Train do a lot
of the work.

"if he stays on Armstrong's wheel"? That's funny. Ullrich,
yes, but Tyler? IMO, no. He'd probably fall off trying to
keep up w/LA. Tyler is a fantastic cyclist but you can't
compare him to an Armstrong or Ulrich.

That Blue Train is not stupid. They're not going to blast
into the mtns giving everyone a free ride. Phonak won't show
up at the mtns with legs fresher than any other team's, I
promise you that.

That's exactly what USPS did in 2002 when they had an
incredibly strong team. They blasted hard in the front until
Mt. Ventoux, when Armstrong had to go it alone.

You don't think that was a mistake? I hope they wouldn't do
that again. Last year, Lance was pissing and whining about
Heras hauling butt in the TdF (in the mtns, granted). I
guess Heras is now free to kick everyone's butt if he
thinks he can.
