RdRage, the proper upkeep for Ksyriums (Equippes, Elites, and SSC SLs alike) isn't unlike that for any other wheel -- not much, really. The only things you might want to do on a truly regular basis are 1) keep the braking surface clean; 2) keep an eye on how true they spin. Every now and then, give them a good push and watch closely for any wobble; 3) on a related note, look the spokes over from time to time. Give each a pluck, and check for any that look or feel ajar, loose, or otherwise out of sorts.

Any nonsense in the true-ness or spoke department should be taken care of as soon as possible -- it's hard to promise anything about the wheel's life, or your safety, if you're rolling along on wheels that aren't stable or even round.

Of course, there's always the hubs; like BBs and headsets, these are likely to eventually require servicing, replacing, or internal overhaul, but there's no real regular maintenence you can do to prevent that -- luckily, you can squeeze years and years out of a good hub, and when something's wrong, you'll likely know.

Have fun.

The fts-l rear hub's freebody tends to get sticky after as little as 1500 miles. I looked into doing on overhaul myself, but found an LBS that did a complete overhaul for $15. The hub bearings are sealed but serviceable. It doesn't realy matter if the freehub is sticky as long as you don't do much coasting. For what you pay for a set of SSC SLs having them overhauled once a season for $30 is cheap.
