yeah, if anyone finds out, tell me!!

i think the answer to this is you can't change your genetics and upbringing. some people put on muscle mass really easily, some people hold fat around certain areas easily. i think for women, more body fat is stored around the stomach and hips (depending on your ethnicity too).

ride heaps is my only answer. run heaps. eat high GI right after training. the sugar will go straight into your blood/muscles, which turns the hunger/'more food please' signal off. eating low GI after training, i find, is worse, cuz you never seem to get full so you end up demolishing a loaf of rye bread. jelly beans from the chemist (the blue cross brand?) are my fave. i just have a couple (4-6) and im feeling happy, have a shower, eat brekky (muesli, fruit, sugar, milk, yoghurt) and im happy.

at all other times (eg. non training days), and at work/school/the rest of the day, eat low GI. plenty of vegies, fruit, milk, yoghurt.

head to the newsagent for a fat and cal counter. they're usually around the lifestyle/health/cooking mags.

i second that notion.

train heaps and eat to train and race, not to get skinny. watch out for eating disorders. triathletes run around wearing nothing and an obsession with image can turn nasty. train to be the athlete you want to be, and you'll look like the athlete you become. good luck megs, it takes some time and patience. that said, you'll surprise yourself at how far you've come over a year.
