Just heard on the radio that Ray Charles passed away. This
may be a good time to checkout The Blues Brothers one more
time to remember a legend.

You'd think that radio stations would do something in a
big way but it sure doesn't seem to be happening in SE
Mass. As Richard said a true legend. Bill C

Reagan fixed that for them. I was just talking on a news
group somewhere today and while they were lambasting Reagan
a man from Riga put in his two cents - "When I come to the
USA these Liberals tell me that they have poor here too.
Then I find out what they mean by poor is that they only
have one car and only $100 a month per person for food. I
got irritated at them then."

You're saying that most of Eastern Europe will miss Reagan
more because they were never free to hear him?

I heard Reagan quite a bit, and I'll miss Ray Charles more.

Did you ask him if he'd ever heard any Ray Charles?

We surely did get to hear Ray Charles a lot over here, in
Italy. Even too much, in my opinion: every summer.

Ragarding being poor, and what is to be poor, I remember a
discussion with a student collegue of mine, from Formosa, a
long time ago. We agreed that most people in the US had a
lot more things at their disposal than in our own
countries, that even the poor would have commodities that
would be almost luxury items elsewhere. But that, poor or
not, you people usually were not able, or apt, to take good
care of your belongings, nor to use them in the best
possible manner.

No offense intended, of course. Just speaking heart out.

The online jazz station from Denmark via Windows Media
Player is playing quite a bit this morning.

What nerve! I have a good mind to get out the scythe and
clear a path to one of the starting cars in my front yard
and drive it over to the italian consolate and protest!
