View Full Version : shock absorbing bike stem

I spend about 1.5 hours daily on a bike communting and
wonder whether getting a shock absorbing seat stem is
helpful.

Comments please.

I asked about this a month or so ago - a google should bring
the thread up easily. Everyone advised getting an expensive
one (well, £50ish one anyway) but the effect seems to be
very subtle. People could sort-of notice the difference but
weren't sure. Unfortunately my seat tube is too narrow for
them so I never will find out if they're any good :-(

It most certainly will. Get a proper one like USE or Cane
Creek Thudbuster and make sure you get the proper
elastomers for it - that is, the elastomers that match your
weight. You will definitely notice the difference and have
a smoother ride.
