why does boney part of my ankle hurt like hell?

My left ankle is still bothering me. I've noticed that the
boney part that sticks out on the inside of my ankle is
tender has hell, particularly right underneath the most
protruding part. Any ideas on what would cause this?

I'm no doctor, but I've heard:

1. There are several tendons that snake under that area.
2. Might be caused by insufficient arch support -- see a
podiatrist.
3. I know someone who had it become a chronic issue that
really messed his running up -- don't ignore it or just
try to run through it.

The above is assuming that you have that tendon tunnel
syndrome going on. There may be other injuries that explain
the symptoms...

Do you hit your ankle with your other foot while running? I
sometimes hit my other ankle when I mistep or lose my
balance while running.
