View Full Version : newbie questions goals

Brian

I started running 3-4 miles 5 times a week about a year ago mainly for
weight loss. Now I'm running also for fun and have recently switched
to 3 days 5.5 - 6 miles, 3 miles of intervals, and about every other
week 3 miles of hills. I ran my first 5k about a month ago in 23:52

Is a 20 minute 5k a reasonable goal and roughly how long
would this take to do? What could I change in my runs to
help do this.

I'd also like to run a half marathon in December with the
goal of just finishing. Do a have a shot at doing this with
my current workout? What would you suggest changing?
Thanks, Brian

I'm just a newbie, too, but I can answer the last half of
that question; It would take 20 minutes.
