This came in under the hubris of some health information.
Thought you might get a chuckle or two. Zee

Glanced thru it and I may purchase stock in meds for
headaches.

It looks like a worth-reading transcript of a parliamentary
discussion.

But where is the "exaggerated pride or self-confidence
often resulting in retribution", which is what "hubris"
means? Surely participants in this newsgroup know the
meaning of hubris!

This is like my art teacher telling me "but you didn't stay
inside the lines."

Hubris: presumption

The presumption of being something worthwhile like health
information, when it was just usenet--oops--parlimentary,
sparring. Yes. Surely participants in this newsgroup...

Seriously though: did you ever think there was a valid
model for what we do here? And that some of us may have
missed our calling?

Fatal, tragic presumption. The Greeks had the word for it.

Many, apparently.
