moderate - heavy
sorry, I meant what type, ie road, mtb, track...
For road biking:
Bianchi Eros is a pretty good bike for around $800-900.
Jamis Aurora doesn't look too bad either.
There are others, obviously.
For $500-800, you can get a good (although not top of the line) mountain bike.

o0o, im sorry, "road biking" if that's what you call it..
There's also hybrids, which are more in your price range.
However, if you are doing moderate/heavy riding, a road bike would be better. They are faster and generally more comfortable on longer rides than hybrids.

ya, im riding an old "huffy aerowind" an dim looking for something alittle nicer, hopefully going to sell the huffy to suplement the cost of the new one. but i just looked up the bianchi and its $1099....
hmmm...if you find a model from last year it'll probably be around $800 even if it's new. You can perfectly fine bikes cheap just because they are from the year before. Maybe some other people here can think of good road bikes at this price range...I'm sure there are ones. Most decent road bikes that I can think of though are around the $1000 range...
