View Full Version : RAAM - Will the DF teams catch those bents?

With a 100 mile lead whittled down to about 35 miles as they
crossed hilly terrain earlier today, the recumbent team
appears to be degrading in speed and struggling compared to
the significantly younger DF teams following them, who are
riding very strong and look poised to set a DF team record
for the event. The DF teams are closing fast with less than
200 miles to go to the finish.

why does everyone root against the 'bents? For once
those 'bents are showing us what real courage, and
fortitude looks like. Unlike the pampered Euro peloton,
that lost those abilities years ago.

Whose rooting against them? I think that it's curious that
bents are supposed to have this giagantic performance
advantage and after 3000 miles there's something like a
hundred mile difference. And this was due almost entirely to
headwinds where the bent has the aero advantage. Plainly the
advantage of recumbents is overstated.

It looks like the team Lightning Bent Team barely nosed out
Team Action Sports at the finish, so the race was extremely
close. Great effort in closing a 100 mile gap toward the end
of the race by Team Action Sports.

why so sad that the 'bents crossed the country first?

Because only a real first class Dork would ride one.

And they thought SeaBisket was too small and too
lazy. We must all open our minds to those heros who
now ride 'bents.
