With the ratings of so many sports on television either flat
or declining, it's a challenge to locate untapped events and
reach out to new fans.
The Outdoor Life Network believes it has one of those rare
gems in cycling's top prize - the Tour de France, which gets
underway July 3. With American Lance Armstrong aiming for an
unprecedented sixth consecutive tour title, OLN is ready to
hitch a ride with expanded coverage of the race.
Cycling enthusiasts and casual fans will pretty much get wall-to-
wall Lance with many other competitors mixed in during OLN's
nearly 350 hours of live coverage over the Tour's 22 days.

Oh, and CBS's fantastic Sunday coverage of the Tour is back
again this year ----->

Didn't you get the memo? Lafferty's finally persuaded
Leblanc to go back to the stage distances of the early
Tours. Also, last year's Tour honoring Henri Desgrange was
such a success, in honor of HD derailleurs have been banned
from the 2004 Tour - but the announcement hasn't been made
yet, to keep those cheaters at the USPS/Trek/Nike axis from
coming with some high-tech way around the rule.

Weren't those the days when racers took strychnine?

It used to be 30mg benzedrine disolved in 3cc of cyano-
cobalamine (vitamin
b12)
That's what somebody told me. I wouldn't know myself :)

Actual, live coverage is at about 68 hours by my count. The
rest is preview shows, pre-race shows, re-airs of the day's
action, etc. Still, the people who want to see bull riding
and the running of the bulls are in for a shock!

Someone will finally be able to definitively name Lance's
favourite chamois creme.

I think that you're thinking of those people around Brian
that have to listen to him drone on about drugs in cycling.

Lance prefers that he isn't too dominant, just winning. More
people will watch if he's not dominant.
Do you think lots of people would watch him in the Giro next
year? I do.

In the context of mainstream America, "Why would I want to
watch him eat a Greek sandwich?"
