Help disassembling old Girvin ProForx

I've got the Girvin ProForx (prior to Answer model) that used to have 3" of travel; but, they're spring/polymer combo and the polymer is way shot. Two questions: Are there any replacement polymers out there that will fit/work? How the hell do you get these apart? I've removed the long retainer bolt, the clips and the rubber seals, but these suckers will not come apart. Help! Please??
