OLd fashioned bicycle
View Full Version : OLd fashioned bicycle
Can anyone give me an idea where I can find an old fashioned
kind of bicycle. Something like an old Pashley. You know the
kind of thing, three speed, nice leather saddle, enclosed
chain and nice green of black paint job. Secondhand
preferred but essential Thaks BT

Would a new Pashley do? http://www.pashley.co.uk/ Or maybe a
more Teutonic equivalent? http://www.fahrradmanufaktur.de/
Both can be supplied with hub gears (available in 8-speed on
the Fahrrad!)

There is a German outfit that imports Indian bikes into
Europe that advertise on e-bay regularly. Can't find them on
a quick Google.

Thanks to all for your advice. I have finally settled on an original Dutch
model.
The Pashleys are nearly £600 which is a bit steep and more than I paid for
my car.
Thanks again

If you haven't already bought and can travel to Edinburgh,
the Bike=20 Station has a number of traditional Dutch
roadsters. I believe the funky=20 one on show today with rod-
operated drum brakes (Linked so each lever=20 operates both)
has already been spoken for, but there is a collection of=20
similar vehicles in various states of repair. Probably cost
for one, ~ =A315.
