Got my route sheet today, the course stays mercifully away
from the coast after Buckler's Hard so no repeat of the
Dorset Coast ;-) There is also a z stop back at Denmead at
285k, so you get to have a couple of hours kip before the
last 115k (which is a repeat of the January ride up to
Whitchurch and back by the look of it)

Where does it go after Buckler's Hard?

I think Lymington (but may be before BH), Brockenhurst, up
through the forest and to Fordingbridge, Blandford
Forum,Romsey then back to Denmead for the z
stop/Whitchurch leg.

Looks like the Denmead 300 I missed a couple of months back
(without the Whitchurch leg).

Thanks Martin. Probably see you there this time.

Bring a sleeping bag/mat if you want to use the hall. Two
clubmates tried to do the 600 last year and did not go back
out after the z stop, always a problem when you stop at the
finish half way; but the last 115 is easy-ish once you are
over the Downs.

An easier alternative is the On / Off shore 200 on 5.9.04
from Lymington, best of the Forest and also the IOW to boot,
am going for it so I can get a Brevet 1000 badge (assuming I
get to Battle and Back tomorrow).

This looks a good one although the Island is a bit hilly. My
sister and I will be doing it so if anyone else from URC is
doing it I'll see you for tea and toast on the ferry.

Yes I am, finished Battle and Back just now so need a fifth
200 this season for my badge. Yellow Ribble, AUK top. Yes
the Island is hilly, not sure how much of it you do, but the
full 100k round the island is a monster, probably will only
do Lymington to Cowes if the ferry goes uo the Solent to
Southampton, but that does not avoid the worst bit.

I spoke to the organiser a while back; i'ts an out and back
route on the island so we will be using the Lymington
Yarmouth ferry each way. Apart from that I don't know a lot
about the route except that the second half is flatter.
Hope to see you at the start, I doubt we'll see much of you
after that!

Every other 200 I have done this year has been wet ;-(

I met the organisers at the weekend; the IOW route is inland
from the Needles across to Bembridge and back, not sure if
that makes it any easier.
