T-Mobile leaves Salvodelli at home for the Tour?
What happened? I thought he was on track to make the Tour
team. He would have been a great all round support rider for
Ullrich if his form would be good. I did not hear any recent
news. Not only would he be an excellent tempo rider up the
hills, he would provide what Ullrich needs the most
(apparently), a guide *down* the cols to pick a good live
through the corners that give Jan so much trouble.

Since you mention his descending skills, it made me wonder:
how did Evans survive as a mountain biker, only to break in
to pieces as a road rider? Is dirt really that much softer?

After being injured back in April, and not showing any of
his old form in time for the Route du Sud? I don't think
he was ever being considered this year. Look for him in
the Vuelta.

You are correct about this, of course. I'm sure he would be
going if he were in decent shape, but he isn't so he
ain't... or maybe, given the alleged reason for Cadel's
exclusion, he still wouldn't. Who knows?

It's my fault. Blame me.
I asked them to cut him because no one on rbr could spell
his name correctly and it was embarassing. I guess they took
me seriously.

I think it's his bones that are softer.

Cadel cartwheeling down a descent would have made
interesting Tour coverage, we'll miss him.

I found his Italian web site (
http://web.tiscali.it/ilfalco/ ) with the spelling that you
indicate, so thanks for pointing that out.

Nice try, but if they were softer, they would be more
difficult to break.

In this case, "softer" means more brittle or something else
that makes them break easier. This could be because of
repeated fractures in one area or the use of certain
medical products.

You mean cyclists' bones aren't made out of aluminum or
carbon fiber?

Only when they break them a month before the Olympics. A
little titanium thrown in too.

Well, possibly, one screw at a time. Maybe titanium is
more likely.
