Purchasing CO2 Cartridges in France?
I'm traveling to France in a couple of weeks for a cycling
tour that includes the TDF, and I've heard that CO2
cartridges are not permitted on airplanes, even as checked
baggage. Is this correct?
And, is it possible to purchase CO2 cartridges in France?

Not permitted even though under every seat on every aircraft
flying over water there is a life vest with two such cartridges--
