Herbal Medicine
View Full Version : Herbal Medicine
Nowadays, big hospitals do not use the herbal medicine
in treating patients. My question is why they do not use
the herbal medicine. Does the herbal medicine have
problem or what?

Other than having never been shown to be safe and effective?
Herbal medicine is not approved for use by the medical
boards or FDA.

Gymmie Bob babbled:

Actually, Gymmie is half right which is not surprising for
a half-wit.
In the USA, any form of medication has to be FDA approved
before it can be used in hospitals. Very few herbal products
have passed the scrutiny of clinical trials to prove
efficacy and safety. On top of that, few are standardized so
that dosage can be carefully controlled.
Monther, are there any herbal medicines that you think
SHOULD be dispensed in hospitals?
