Generic strips/HDI
View Full Version : Generic strips/HDI
My DE just informed me that my current meter (pretige IQ)
has a generic available...while it will save some money I am
worried that it might not work properly. Does anyone have
any experience with these or with other generic strips for
their meters? It looks to be 20-30% less expensive but might
be worth it if works just as well.

The Precision QID has a better reputation, and can be
purchased for 9$ at WalMart under the Relion liable - the
strips are about $44/100.

Thanks, I'll check the relion. I've heard about their house
brand. Didn't One touch have a generic for awhile (still
do?), that was/is my favorite meter just a lot of $$$.

I recall there was one for the One Touch Basic and
One Touch Profile, their older meters. I don't think
I've seen it in a long time, but then I really
haven't been looking very hard since I don't use the
meters anymore.
