Tegnap este 8:00 pm BG was 189 after exercise, I didn't eat
any thing till today noon, (slept late), pissed off BG
showed 242 at 11:00 am today. For last night dinner, all I
had is salad, vegtable, one hot dog meat, slice of chease.
Exercised at 4:00pm today, at 5:00pm BG showed 125. Great!
Yahoooooooo! It's been a long time I measured so low BG.
Looks like I'll be alive for another few years, don't have
to save for casket yet.

JS...

You have to eat.

And your dinner last night has little impact on your numbers
at 5p the next day.

I'm happy for your 125... but to keep at it, you have to
learn what foods are working for you and what foods are not.

You need to add more vegetables, and good proteins... fish,
tofu, turkey, chicken, eggs, beef (not as much hotdogs with
nitrates).

keep at it. Write things down in a notebook.

That's great news! I've had to cut way down on all processed
meats (hotdogs, deli meats), pizza, and pasta. I note that
the day after I eat these things, my fbg is always about 10-
15 points higher--for whatever reason. I've also found that
generally my fbg is higher the later I get up, no matter how
many hours I've fasted. My body is on it's own rhythm,
that's for sure.

I'm a type 2 on meds, and I seem to have my best numbers the
next day when I eat a dinner of lean meat, a microwaved ear
of fresh corn or small red potato, and broiled halved
zucchini, yellow squash, or microwaved asparagus, and then
eat a snack of a half bowl of whole grain cereal with 1%
milk later in the evening. I agree with the folks here--keep
a diary and test so you can experiment with what happens
under various circumstances.

Still learning, Pinecone

What's with the nitrate in the hotdog? No good? I only had
one! I like hotdog, wraped in a slice of cheese and
microwaved so it melts. Thanks for the good advice any
way, Jennifer!

Good to see you can actually get some lower numbers, but as
Jennifer said, fasting too long between meals is not a good
idea in the long term.

Go back and read her initial advice to you on testing, then
try a couple of days where you "graze" - instead of a few
big meals, eat four or five small snacks and test an hour
and two hours after each.

You will develop different tastes for "what I like" as
time goes on. It certainly affects your ideas of how much
you like something if you start to envisage it as
poisonous to you.

good luck, keep at it,

Hotdogs have very little nutritional value and are full of
chemicals.
