Dear gentle reader,

Diabetes

Chromium is an important mineral for diabetics, as it is
required for normal function. When the body has no Chromium
defciency, it can produce symptoms, such as impaired glucose
metabolism, highblood sugar levels, and lower HDL levels.
Gymnema sylvestre also plays a role in helping the body
repair the pancrease' beta cells, which play a vital role in
the production of and secretion of insulin in the body. This
formula(The Greatest Vitamin in the World) contains the
patented amino acid chelated form of Chromium absorbed
better than any other form of Chromium, as well as the
highest quality ingredients to ensure no additional stress
is palced on your body.

I think we've all tried something or other through the
years. Currently I'm using cinnamon sticks in my instant
coffee every morning. Can't say there has been dramatic
improvement....I'm around 6, 6.2 in recent tests and
averaging 80-120 in daily BG. But my doctor suggested niacin
in addition to other medicines (lipitor, lopid) and a new
drug called Welchol. Latest tests are: cholesterol 179,
triglycerides 80, HDL 62, LDL 101. Somethings working......

My understanding is that niacin helps lower cholesterol, but
when I tried it I found it raised my fasting blood sugar
readings about 20 points. I'd suggest people monitor this
carefully, then discuss with your doctor which is more
important.

YUCK!!!! I think that would put me off coffee for life,
instant or otherwise. ;-(

Hi Alan

I found that my fragility to carbs in the morning meant that
even the milk in my coffee was a problem, but I didn't like
the taste of black coffee.

When the discussion of cinnamon re-surfaced a while back,
I experimented with a teaspoon of powder but it developed
the familiar "sludge". Then I tried cinnamon quills and
bark in my coffee-maker (one of the italian two-chamber
pressure type) and found that I quite liked the taste in
black coffee.

The effect on BGs is unnoticeable to me, but now I can drink
black coffee at breakfast. YMMV or in this case YTMV (your
taste-buds may vary).

Cheers, Alan, T2 d&e, Australia. Remove weight and
carbs to email.

Absolutely 100% :-))

Cinammon should go the way of the Dodo, then I wouldn't have
to get even a whiff of it wherever I went. Went to Tesco's,
walked by the bakery and almost blew my dinner! Same thing
at other s'markets.
