My BG just wants to go up, up!!! - PartII
Sorry, about the recent inflaming about my post, I've seen
people concern about my off the wall statement that "I'm
starving my self all day". I don't starve my self, that
fasting period included my sleep time. Actually, my wife
thinks I eat too much, but than she it's like a bird
naturally. The good news, last day or two I'm getting good
numbers on my BG meter, just measured (111) after exercise
and my morning BG was 165. Did some exercise late night too.
I'm feeling much better now, have more energy. Looks like,
the lack or too little exercise was my problem, spending too
much time on the evil computer, didn't help either. I've
been doing exercise twice a day the last 3-4 days, including
bicycling and it got my BG down very quick. I also take up,
fishing as a hobby, at least gets me out to the fresh air
for longer period of time.
Thank you all! Looks like, I need a little head game to get
me into this diet, exercise, BG control discipline. Nobody
helps me, around me.

That's a scary morning BG!

So you're dismissing the concerns folks here have had about
your eating? I haven't seen anyone agree with you that lack
of exercise was the problem.

How about preventing it from going up in the first place?

You're not helping yourself either if you don't pay
attention to what folks here are telling you.
You need to check in with your doctor about your numbers.
A fasting BG of 165 is a problem. You need to take a look
at when you're eating and what you're eating and your
meds levels.
I imagine you'll just ignore this like you've ignored every
other piece of advise you theoretically asked for, but in
good conscience I cannot NOT say it. Take the cotton out of
your ears!

I wouldn't WANT anyone around me "helping" me. They end up
thinking they know better than you, and there's not many
things more annoying than 5 minute experts.
Learn about this disease and learn which foods you can eat
by using your meter (a LOT). And by writing things down so
you're not relying on memory.

glad to hear you are doing better! My wife and I bicycle 3-4
times a week. That really reduces my insulin requirements.
Plus it improves our mood and energizes us.

Yes, that would do it. Back in 98' I had lot of weight on
me, working like a zombi. I was 225 lb, I'm 5'8". Me and my
wife began to bicycle, 3-4 times regularly per week. We were
looking up all kinds of interesting parks, lakes all over
the county, and outside, including the Golden Gate park and
others. Within about 5-6 months I've lost over 40 lb without
dieting or focusing on what I eat. From 225lb went to 170lb,
I felt very good, so my wife. I even had plans to go to
Hawaii for a bicycle tour, but she didn't go for
it.Seems endurance type of exercise is the best.

I think you being hard. 4-5 days ago I had a BG 300, now I'm
bouncing between 170 and 110, I'm very happy for these
numbers. I'm sure it will improve more.

I find all types of exercise is important. Heavy lifting
seems to be a plus but it carried on too long it will cause
glucose to be released and the blood sugar will rise. Each
of us must find our own boundaries. That is why we have
meters. I must reduce my calories input since I reside in a
wheelchair. But I have moved a lot of sand in the last few
years. Wore out one golf cart. A five gallon bucket of sand
is a stress exercise. A shovel load of sand at arms length
gives a combined exercise. Each to his own but do exercise
every day. Guy

Thanks Guy
Best advice I've seen on exercise for a while. Too many
think they have to go to a gym or do something really
strenuous. Just start by doing what you can, a little each
day, and try to build on it.
