glucophage side effects
I've been taking glucophage for about 3 & 1/2 years. After
one year I noticed my toenails on my big toes began to get
thicker and became ingrown on both my feet. About 7 months
ago I noticed the same thing happening on the nails of the
toes next to the big toes.
I'm thinking this is a side effect of the glucophage. my
doctor os not aware of such a side effect.
Is this happening or has this happened to anyone else who
takes glucophage?
That's probably the effect of diabetes you have.

Thick toenails are not caused by Glucophage...
But they are a symptom of diabetic peripheral vascular
disease.
"Signs related to the topical or skin changes in PVD are not
so easy to differentiate from other conditions. These
symptoms include coldness or paleness of the leg or feet, if
elevated, blue/red discoloration of the feet or toes, dry
skin, fragile or shiny-looking skin, loss of normal hair
growth on lower legs or thick toenails, and sores that do
not heal."
How have your A1c tests been over the past 3 1/2 years?

Are they also yellowish? If so, you could have nail fungus.
That's common in diabetics.
