I have been thinking about this a lot lately after having
heart surgery including a new technique that failed. Now I
have a list of drugs that I carry around with me to avoid
having to remember when the various cardiologists pose the
question. Now, things are getting worse and I am convinced
it is something to do with drugs that don't get on with each
other or with me!! Trouble is, knowing what can be done
without before causing more trouble. Diana

After heart attack / stent LAD I was on the usually regime
of drugs. For 3 years I felt like a zombie, continually
complaining that something was wrong, no one listened until
I had a bad reaction to one of (or combination of) drugs. I
broke out in a rash all over my body, I also had hives
covering every part of my body, my face swelled to a point
where I couldn't see and I was finding it hard to get a
breath. I was treated with yet more drugs and put under the
care of an Immunologist who could not find the drug (s)
responsible although he had some suspicions. Did they (Dr's)
change or reduce my drugs? NO. So I researched my drugs and
found out which one's I could safely stop for a short period
of time in an attempt to find the drug responsible. Within
weeks of stopping several drugs I was back to feeling good.
I have not gone back on these drugs and NEVER will, it has
put a sour taste in my mouth and I find it very hard to
trust Doctors and avoid them as much as possible.

MY drugs then: Beta-blocker ACE Inhibitor Statin Aspirin
Plavix Zoton (gastro) Anxiety drug (name escapes me).
Valium (PRN)

Now: Beta-blocker Plavix.

AND DOING WELL. Cheers
