Do many of you have self cleaning ovens or do many of
you have ovens you have to clean manually? Just a
quick question.

Self-cleaning. It makes me happy the day after Thanksgiving.

Self-clean here. I've had both kind and self-clean rules!

Self-cleaning, electric. But we grill so often year-round
that I only run the cleaning cycle once a year or so.

Self-cleaning, but it did come with the house...

Self-cleaning. In the past I also had continuous cleaning,
which also worked fine.

I have a self-cleaning oven. I love it - I'd take a self-
cleaning oven over a frost-free refrigerator any day (if I
could only pick one).

Since I live in an apartment, I have to take what the
landlord gives me, but I'm lucky enough to have a self-
cleaning oven.

I cleaned it last week, the day *before* I made an oversized
batch of baked beans; the pot boiled over in the oven and by
the time the beans were done that gunk was really baked on!
Had I just cleaned that oven manually and that happened I'd
have been mad as a hornet. I was slightly annoyed with
myself for not remembering I had to make the beans the day
after I cleaned it, but not nearly as much as I would have
been if I had to clean it manually again.

Gas oven; manual cleaning of a relatively nonstick surface.
We wipe out the oven while it's still warm. Use oven
cleaner on it once a year to get whatever is left, which is
never much.

Thank you, everyone! I cleaned so many ovens, I assumed they
even still made them not self clean! (laugh) I'm looking for
a new oven and I wouldn't even consider one that wasn't self
clean, I don't care if it's rated number 1 among every top
chef in the world.

Appreciate all your responses. That was very nice. nancy

Self-cleaning and I would never return to the thankless task
of cleaning an oven! I leave the racks in too, could care
less that they are not shiny.

Maybe ten, twelve years ago I remember reading the consumer
people said that the extra one pays for the self cleaning
feature is soon returned by not having to buy oven cleaner.
