Anquet Help

Since 2001, over 90,000 cyclist's have joined Cycling Forums to discuss topics from general cycling to equipment, training, racing and travel or vacation destinations (especially in europe during the tour de france). We also feature an great deals in our online store, 100's of articles, classifieds and product reviews.

I don't want any previous routes/walks I have used or been
working on to appear when I start Anquet. I would like a
blank canvas in which to open a map from file or download a
walk from my GPS. Its a pain to have to delete manually all
the other walks in an area so that only the one of interest
is showing.

I think deleting the contents of the persistent directory
may achieve this but it is not very convenient. Anyone know
how to achieve this or is it just the way it works?

It was the way it worked. With the latest updates I believe
you can now save and load different sets of persistent data.
Haven't actually used the new feature yet though.

By the way, routes aren't permanent, you can only have one
loaded at a time. Routes are made from paths, which are
permanent, but not any more apparently.

Not sure if this is exactly what you trying to achieve, but
you could just hide the paths and waypoints (5th and 6th
buttons on the toolbar). That way you can bring them back
later, should you want to, rather than having to plot them
again. My maps are littered with plotted paths, this allows
me to experiment with numerous routes until I'm happy, but
then next week I might want to walk a route slightly
differently.

Tools - User Data Management

Use Select All or Select Area (tick "affect paths inside
drag box") to select all paths and waypoints. You can then
export these to an *.aef file and/or press the delete button
to delete them.

You can then use Tools - Import File to load the data
back in, but when I just tried it it reloaded with the
wrong icons.

What I used to do was to rename the persistent directory. In
fact I have 6 different persistent directories, each with a
different name. Whenever I wanted to change one I'd rename
the current persistent directory to something different
(like persistent paths or persistent summits) and rename the
one I want to use as persistent. Then reload Anquet.

It loads the data back with the default icon that you have
selected in Tools...Import new icons.

Not with me it didn't. It reloaded with icon 1, not my
default icon.

Who on earth decided to have a bicycle as icon 1 anyway?
What a daft choice?

Pretty crap collection of icons anyway. They probably just
did a quick web search and grabbed the first few icons they
came across. Pity they haven't taken the trouble to design
a decent selection of suitable icons. At the very least
they should have icons to match the standard icons in most
GPS units.

am using version 1.2.12 which is the latest on the web site.
I agree about the icons so I imported some of my own

So am I, installed it yesterday.

Just tried it again, and it used the default icon this time,
so maybe my previous post was made before I updated.
