Those Freds cannot ride the cobbles to save their lives. How
predictable was this?

Guess its best the organizers didn't also include
cobblestoned section used in the Tour of Flanders. Might
have left all the riders in the dirt.

They did ok once they got to the cobbles--not terribly fast
but they stayed upright. It was sad to see the Basque boy
riding on the shoulder to avoid what were really not very
difficult cobbles. It makes me wish there was a 100%
Columbian team this year for amusment. Clearly, Mayo lacks a
strong team to pace him on the flats and cobbles. At least
he won't have to worry about having a bad day in what few
mountain stages are to come.

The Spaniards did fine - it was the Basques who lost
out big-time.

It's not the ability to ride cobbles. It's the fact they
isolated Mayo.

When he crashed where was his team? Even if they don't have
the horsepower to keep him at the front, Mayo should always
have at least two guys with him.

In the cobbles the entire Postal team got shelled except
Armtrong and two others (Hincapie and Ekimov), but they were
able to regroup. If Armstrong got shelled you would never
have seen him alone.

A college team -- WTF? Or, do you refer to coffee from
Colombia?
