Saddle question

View Full Version : Saddle question

Over the last couple of months I have increased my long
weekend ride mileage from roughly 70 miles to around 120
miles. With this increase I have noticed a pain around the
sitbones (rather tender!). I was wondering what changes I
should make to eliminate (or at least reduce) this pain...
I feel it for a few days afterwards. Is this an indication
that my saddle is too soft or hard... or is it a
positioning thing. FYI... my saddle is a Selle Italia
ProLink. Never had the problem when my mileage was 70 miles
or less. Thanks for any help!

Try dropping the h/b stem ~1cm. Takes some weight off your a$$.

Where do you live? Do you have a good bike fitter nearby?
Asking for this info on a newsgroup is a sure way to get way
more confused than anything else... Wes

How much do you weigh? How hilly are you rides? Do you sit
in one position on the saddle or move around? Do you
alternate sitting and standing, or just sit all the time?

Sorry, we are at this time to busy with the Tour de France
to be able to provide you with an appropriate answer. Please
feel free to contact RBR at a later date in July. Thanks ;-)
