View Full Version : Running on half a diaphragm?
Hello,
How much would your running be affected if the left half of
your diaphragm is paralyzed?
Thanks.

I think it would be impossible to quantify. In the short
term, I would expect that it would have a fairly major
negative effect but it wouldn't surprise me if your body
adapted over time to leave you with a smaller
ventilatory deficit.
So what happened, someone accidentally chop your phrenic
nerve or is there a lot more to this that you aren't
telling us?

About as much as posting a question to rec.running using
half your brain.
It shouldn't affect your jogging much. With a defective
diaphragm, I'd be much more concerned with unwanted
pregnancies.
Excellent comeback to the retard....

I don't think he should, he has little to spare.
