Do tubes need massage before mounting? Maybe. my experience
with sealers is confined to nashabar's and Woolmorts-the old
wools, the new ones appear to be Slimes and well fed. but as
i have six nashbar's, that'll wait. this developed
commuting. as each tube absorbed glass shard and holes, i'd
retire it to the wall and mount a new one. tus the six
walled. yesterday, (having run out of fresh tubes) i
repaired 3, threw out 2, and kept 3 more on the wall. what
gives here is that Nashabr's have fibers in the solution,
the fibers working to the puncture and then sealing the hole
as the fibers make an escape from tube pressure. some self
sealers show fibers blocking the holes, some do not. the
tubes showing fibers are vastly more effective at retaining
pressure than the tubes not showing fibers at the holes.
massage the tubes b4 mounting!!!
off course , it might be that some tubes have fiobers and
some do not but that's a lot like the paranoid idea that
your tire in not going on the rim was defective and came out
the wrong size-the upside down buffalo nickel theory.
also, keeping the puncture sealers in storage blocks the
whole so well that dunking in the trough not only off ends
the pigs but doesn't reveal any air bubbles. gotta letum
soak b4 the solution softens. aha!
